Doctor Bios

A. Kevin Young, O.D.

Kevin Young, O.D. is a third generation Norman native. After graduating from Norman High School, he attended the University of Oklahoma on a full athletic scholarship in the sport of wrestling.

He then studied at the University of Houston College of Optometry where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Young then returned to Norman and began his private practice where he has served continuously since 1981.

Because of his passion to be on the leading edge of eye-health care, Dr. Young regularly attends continuing education classes and equips his office with state-of-the-art technology.

As an active volunteer, Dr. Young extends his eye-care services to people in need within the Norman community. For over two decades, he has contributed to the Lions Club eyeglasses for kids program. Additionally, he volunteers his services for Norman area high school students that are living on their own.

Dr. Young has been active with The Boy Scouts of America where he taught fly-fishing at summer camps to assist scouts in earning their fly-fishing merit badge.

Avocations include fishing, hiking, canoeing, archery as well as regularly practicing Ashtanga Yoga.

He has one son, Michael, whom is a student attending Oklahoma State University. Michael was a letterman on the Norman North High School wrestling team, is an accomplished guitarist and drummer and has an interest in the medical sciences.

Fred K. Lee, O.D.

Dr. Fred K. Lee was born and raised on the United States territory of Guam. After moving to Oklahoma in the fall of 1996, he attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2000.

Upon completion of his undergraduate work, Dr. Lee attended the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry, obtaining his O.D. in 2008. He currently specializes in contact lenses and ocular disease.

In 2009, Dr. Lee joined the Eyecare Center of Dr. A. Kevin Young in Norman, Oklahoma. There Dr. Lee enjoys helping a diverse patient population while communicating in English, Spanish and Korean.

Dr. Lee is the eldest of two siblings. His sister is a dental hygienist on the East Coast while his parents are semi-retired on Guam. Both credit their parents for their success and blue collar mentality.

In his spare time, Dr. Lee enjoys travelling, lifting weights and reading. It is his goal to travel to all seven continents and explore different cultures.

Dr. Lee feels fortunate for the opportunity to come back to Norman, Oklahoma to practice Optometry. It is in Norman that his upbringing and education allow him to do what he does best: help people and care for patients.
